Director, Murrow Online Programs


As Director of Murrow Online Programs, I provide long-term and day-to-day management of the College’s online degree programs and certificates. It is my responsibility to ensure the quality of curriculum design and delivery, personalized attention in advising and mentoring, faculty training and orientation in development and execution of content in the digital space, and ensuring the College provides online undergraduate and graduate students with valuable content, instruction, counsel, and experience. I also oversee recruitment, retention, and outreach efforts, coordinates program review, assessment, and accreditation activities, and facilitate the success of managed growth and revenue objectives, resource management, and creating a culture of research, learning, and advancement. Murrow Online Programs include MA Strategic Communication, MA Health Communication and Promotion, BA Integrated Strategic Communication, and two graduate certificates in strategic communication and health communication and promotion.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Assessment and accreditation
  • Major and minor curricular change forms
  • MOUs with other departments
  • Sits on Global Campus Academic Council
  • Maintain workflow management processes
  • Make policy recommendations
  • Works with WSU Global Campus instructional designers and faculty to implement unified course format and packaging to provide students with seamless and user-friendly online learning as they take different courses
  • Review apps for new applicants for all MA programs and grad certificates
  • Liaison with recruitment and marketing
  • Maintain teaching standards and course development schedule
  • Faculty onboarding and retention with Murrow Online Community space
  • Management of new technology, learning management tools, policies or procedures from Global Campus
  • Oversee faculty training and development
  • Maintain and update faculty handbook
  • Serve on graduate review committee for all Capstone students
  • Program growth, exploring for expansion, new initiatives in areas such as 5yr programs, 1-cr options, short courses, micro certifications, etc.
